I bought a Porsche! Or, the bank did and they’re generously loaning it to me for a while.
Specifically, I bought a 2014 Cayman S with Dark Blue Metallic over a Luxor Beige interior. Manual obviously. I think I got a great deal, but I’m still in shock that I actually did this... nerves...
In any case, it still has 4 months on the factory warranty, then has 2 years under the CPO warranty. They did a bunch of stuff to get it certified, enough that I likely don’t need the full 30k checkup in 7k miles, so I got that going for me. Which is nice.
One of my main gripes was that the luxor beige interior has been part of a lawsuit due to the glare on the windshield. It’s very visible, but I barely notice it driving, and polarized sunglasses knock it down to almost nothing. I was against this interior, but man it feels so luxurious, and bright. Definitely changed my mind on it.
I don’t know if you all care about all the options, but feel free to ask. There’s a lot of cool stuff, but seeing as it’s a Porsche there are obviously a ton of options it doesn’t have. I’m very happy that it didn’t have the 20" wheels I’ve seen so often in my research. I like the steering wheel most over the other 2 types. It has the sport chrono package I believe too.
So, while I practice pronouncing Porsche with 2 vowels, what do you guys want to know?

Thanks! And so far yes. It was rainy yesterday, but some back roads still made a good impression. Today with some more highway driving I pushed it a bit around ramps and s-curves and it’s breathtaking. My passenger and I just stopped talking haha It has 99% of the mustang straight-line speed with so SO much improvement in the turns.

OOOOOHHH!! I’m jealous - recently drove a 2013 Boxster S manual and fell in love, but the timing isn’t right for me on that.
The torque and noises of that motor are just sweet (as is the chassis, duh). Enjoy! ! ! ! !

I REALLY wanted the sport exhaust, but there’s only something like 15 cars that I could find across the country in my budget, and NONE had PSE. Heck, I even looked at cars with PDK and couldn’t find it. Seemed odd given how often it’s discussed by owners on the forums.

Great purchase, it is the best sports car platform Porsche has, rest assured you have the best sports car Porsche currently makes (excluding all special & limited editions of Caymans & 911s of course).

Stop, I’m blushing haha but really when I was looking at cars (F-Type, C7, GT350, M2) I was blown away at how highly everyone reviewed these. It’s not the most practical, it’s not the best value, it’s not the fastest... but it is hands-down the best drivers car I could possibly afford. And that’s enough for me!

I’m been looking as well, a true rear-mid engined Porsche with a boxer 6 and a manual, without the weight and chassis penalties of the Boxster convertible.
It’s the right size, weight and power for it’s mission statement but also practical enough for a daily. Congrats man!

Fantastic. That’s the best color combo. Welcome to the world of residual factory and CPO warranties. It gives you the sense of ease that comes with a new car, but not the price of one.

~53 before taxes and stuff. But man did they beat my estimates of my trade-in and interest rate. They came down on the interest rate by almost 2%.

Yes sir. Gonna get winter tires sometime in the fall, a trunk liner soon, and autocross it a few times this summer. Otherwise, might do an exhaust next year. DD through it all!
